The Minnesota Twins re-sign Samuel Deduno
The Twins have re-signed 29-year old righty starting pitcher Samuel Deduno to a minor league deal. Deduno pitched in 15 games (all starts) for the Twins last year and he was 6-5 with a 4.44 ERA and a 1.54 WHIP. He gave up 69 hits and he whiffed 57 batters, while walking 53 of them in 79 innings for the Twins last year. Deduno has now pitched in 21 games (15 starts) in his first three years in the majors and he is 6-5 with a 4.36 ERA and a 1.58 WHIP. Deduno will need to throw more strikes starting next spring if he wants to win a job in the Twins’ 2013 starting rotation.
