The Minnesota Twins sign Scott Elarton
The Twins have signed 36-year old righty starting pitcher Scott Elarton to a minor league deal. Elarton pitched in 26 games (all starts) in AAA-ball for the Phillies last year and he was 6-11 with a 5.41 ERA and a 1.57 WHIP. He last pitched in the majors way back in 2008 for the Indians. Elarton has pitched in 232 games (170 starts) in his first 10 years in the majors and he is 56-61 with 3 saves, a 5.29 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP. Elarton will likely start the 2013 season in AAA-ball for the Twins. I don’t see him helping the Twins at any point next season.
